Polished concrete benchtops are fast gaining popularity with designers, architects and home renovators alike. You may have seen them feature on popular renovation show The Block or in your favourite lifestyle magazine.

Polished concrete is perfectly imperfect. Bursting with character and uniqueness, each benchtop tells a story.

The design of your dream piece starts with choosing your desired colour, thickness and finish type.

Our creations are constructed with glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC), giving them the strength of traditional concrete while being half the weight. Hard wearing, strong and durable making them highly practical as well as visually appealing.

Our benchtops are custom made, one of a kind pieces. They are formed and poured off site in our studio and in most cases our benches can be made all in one piece with no joins, making them free flowing and seamless.

Our team are available to consult about design options with you today.

What options do I have when choosing my benchtop?
This is where your creativity is able to shine! The possibilities are endless. You will need to decide things like the colour, the thickness, the size, whether you would like an aggregate added, the type of finish, and if you’d prefer a concrete sink or a sink insert.
How long will my custom concrete benchtop take to make?
Your custom “con-creation” will take approximately 3-4 weeks. Depending on the complexity of the job, the size and our work load.
Will it crack?
It is in concrete’s nature to expand and contract, this may occasionally cause hairline cracks to appear in your benchtop. If these occur, don’t be alarmed, they are non-structural. These minor imperfections only add to the uniqueness and character of the benchtop. The corners of your concrete benchtop, like granite and marble, can chip if they are knocked with a hard object. While concrete is a strong and durable product we strongly recommend that you do NOT sit or stand on your benchtop.
Do concrete benchtops stain?
Concrete is a porous material, left untreated, it is susceptible to staining. With the right sealer your Con-create Design benchtop can be stain-resistant, heat-resistant, scratch-resistant, food safe and easy to maintain and clean. Spills should of course be removed in a reasonable time period. Concrete sealers have come a long way, from the basic wax and acrylic sealers once used. There are a wide range of sealers on the market, and the type of sealer we use depends on the finish desired and the individual job.
Why should I choose a polished concrete benchtop?
Our polished concrete benchtops are for clients seeking high quality handmade pieces.   Con-create Design’s unique, one of a kind creations make a statement. Concrete is a versatile product that suits all types of design aesthetics, whether it be the raw industrial look, modern/contemporary or French provincial.
What is concrete?
